I would absolutely support Rush's move to satellite. I'm already a subscriber and had been hoping for sometime he would make the move. $12 a month is more than worth it.

I listened to Ken from the late 80's to the early 2000's. Ken was a breath of fresh air from the usual ideology promulgated by the socialists/leftist agenda. The black community by in large were "brain washed" into believing that Ken was just an Uncle Tom, or "oreo,":terms which most people find offensive, but ones used in a derogatory way from other blacks who bought into the leftist promises of equal rights as they see them. Come back Ken, we need you!!

I almost forgot the exterior inventory required by some of these shows. Sean Hannity's show requires stations to run the 2:00 "Sean Hannity Morning Minute" featurette, which is 1 minute of Sean talking, followed by 1 minute of network commercial spots. There's also a :60 run-of-schedule ad required. So there's 2:00 nets outside the show each day.

Rush Limbaugh requires a similar "Rush Morning Update," with the same amount of inventory. I don't know if any ROS ads are required. Dr. Laura's program has a mandatory "Dr. Laura Moment" which comes with a :30 spot. The entire featurette is 2:00. One of the shows I mentioned, Dan Patrick, has the "Above the Noise" featurette, which is structured like Hannity and Rush's (:60 content/:60 ads).

First, and most importantly, the show needs to be more affordable. There's no advertising spots on the network, which means the show requires a fee from stations to carry. I do realize that they leave roughly 24 minutes of advertising open to the local stations each hour, but if the show's ratings aren't good, and the ads can't be sold, the station could be losing money on the show. A barter option puts a floor under the show, so the station can't lose money. The only AM based talk shows able to charge carriage fees nowadays are Limbaugh, Hannity, and possibly Savage. Even Glenn Beck and Dr. Laura are free to carry. ESPN Radio recently implemented fees, but even that's creating backlash from stations. So either Quinn and Rose need to run their own spots, or they need to find a distributor to sign with.

Second, Quinn should stop promoting XM Radio so much. It's almost like he's trying to drive as many listeners to it as possible. It's even listed at the top of warroom.com. Hell, the DNC thought XM was his employer! http://mediamatters.org/research/200705110002

When you're in afternoon drive, you really need to increase that local load unless you want to be tape delayed. It's tough to syndicate in that or morning drive. Most morning drive syndicated shows seem to require a cash exchange with no barter option. Bob and Tom has one network ad, but they require a fee.

Starting next month, Glenn Beck's network load will increase to 6:00.

Here are some more:

Dave Ramsey - Local: 15:50 / Network: 5:00
Randi Rhodes - Local: 15:10 / Network: 5:00
Bill Handel (weekdays) - Local: 18:10 / Network: 2:00
Fox News Radio (all programs) - Local: 17:10 / Network: 4:00
The Schnitt Show - Local: 18:40 (hr 1-2), 19:40 (hr 3) / Network: 5:00
Ed Schultz - Local: 16:10 / Network: 5:00
Stephanie Miller - Local: 15:10 / Network: 5:00
Rick and Bubba - Local: 13:20 / Network: 8:00

Sports Radio:

Fox Sports Radio (except Dan Patrick) - Local: 11:10 / Network: 4:00 (3:00 FSR updates)
Fox Sports Radio (Dan Patrick) - Local: 12:40 / Network: 5:00 (1:30 FSR updates)

Yes she is, but Premiere is her distributor, not her producer. Dr. Laura's show is self-produced by Take on the Day, LLC, so this exempts her from the Clear Channel-XM agreement. The same is true for Premiere distributed Dan Patrick (Content Factory), Tony Bruno (Content Factory), Real Estate Today (Media Syndication Services), and Sean Hannity (Sean Hannity Show).

On the opposite end, shows produced by Clear Channel that are distributed by outside parties DO fall into the agreement. So Todd Schnitt, produced by CC in Tampa but distributed by Dial Global, and now Compass Media Networks, is denied carriage on Sirius. Jerry Springer's radio show was another case. Distributed by Air America, but CC produced it.

You'll never see anything from Clear Channel stream on Sirius XM online as long as they maintain the current relationship. Clear Channel controls all the commercial spots on the channels they operate on XM, as per their arrangement dating back a decade when they invested in XM Radio and bought 10% of the bandwidth. Now, for Sirius XM to give them any more than the bare minimum requirements to them is just throwing resources and money out the window. Clear Channel's channels aren't even acknowledged or promoted by Sirius XM.
