I remember exactly where I was when Rush told his audience he had lost all of his hearing. At the time, he mentioned that his doctor wanted to only operate on one ear, in case a better solution came along in the future. Rush has decided it is time to stop waiting.

That whole procedure is fascinating. Drill a small hole in the skull, insert bionic sensors wired up to the ear drum/whatever. Something to do with small wires in the brain. Seems like magic to me.
Rush’s reports on the poor sound quality are kind of sad though.
The silence depending upon my own thoughts and conscience, Divine inspiration or garble – I’d hate making that call.
