A recent topic of conversation on the John Batchelor show is the warming relationship between Russia, Iran and China. The more NATO uses international trade and the US dollar as weapons, the more we drive the countries of the SCO together.
Shanghai Cooperation Organization
Iran, India and Pakistan are currently “Observing” countries and Turkey is a “dialog partner”
Russia has resources, China has manufacturing capabilities and a billion slaves to make stuff.
Possibly related, another segment mentioned a liquidity crisis in Hong Kong causing the HIBOR (Hong Kong Interbank Offer Rate) to shoot up to 9%, similar to the situation before the 2008 financial crisis in the West.
I don’t care for the TTP!
If Iran, Turkey, Pakistan and India join the SCO, that’s half of the entire population of the planet. The leader of India just made a surprise visit to Pakistan. The GDP of NATO is about 1/3 of the world. If the TPP is scuttled, likely some other countries in Asia get added to China’s sphere of influence.
Saudi Arabia is not going to belong to a club that has Iran as a member. Saudi Arabia hasn’t subdued Yemen even with our help. Affluence and enlisting in the military are opposing forces. Saudi Arabia has no credible military. The US is their hired help (Saudi Arabia reimbursed us for the first Gulf War). Will Pakistani soldiers fight for the Saudis to overthrow Iran? Seems very unlikely

Merry Christmas, Fred and to all!
When I saw the headline, I thought this would be an article about SCO Unix. 😉
So did I when I wrote it.
