I think it is a good symbol for either terrestrial broadcasting or a good symbol for a program that is broadcasting now (live rather than recorded material).
Don’t stare at it or you’ll be hypnotized

It looks a bit too much like a dartboard at the moment. While tool tips are useful to give hints of what an icon means, devices without a mouse can’t use them. Given the small size, the complexity of the icon is limited. The current “N” is completely non intuitive unless you have the legend
