Remember when you donated to your “local” Public Radio/TV station?

Your call and credit card information may have been handled by a third party call center in Colorado. The company vanished overnight in April without explanation.

The vague explanation was that the organization suffered a catastrophic network failure, and some outsider (Putin hackers?) gained control of their systems with administrator privileges. Most of their staff has since been fired.

Despite not knowing how or why, they are reassuring NPR/PBS stations there is no reason to think whoever broke into their systems misused credit card data.

    I don’t worry much about that one. When I see something I like from PBS I download it. I will not contribute to NPR/PBS I think the government is already doing it with my tax money.
