The coming war over smelly fruit

Oct 30th, 2017

Durian is a fruit grown in Southeast Asia. It emits an odor that resembles a variety of unpleasant odors, but apparently the fruit itself is quite pleasant.

The China connection

China is considering allowing the import of durian from Malaysia, which is expected to cause a sharp increase in prices in Singapore.

Durian is one of the fruits cultivated in the Family Farm Seaside app, where I currently am at level 51. Hold your applause… no really…

Outstanding Durian Milkshakes at most Malaysian and Vietnamese restaurants in the USA. Very tasty. Most also have Papaya shakes as well, also worth the trip.

We started watching a film on Amazon Prime called “The river of exploding darians”, vaguely a love story set in a village protesting a nearby radioactive rare earth processing plant in Malaysia. We lasted maybe 15 minutes and fell asleep

This is the only Malaysian restaurant in Charlotte, and I don’t see durian mentioned.
