The Senate in Paraguay voted 39-4 to kick President Lugo out of office after he pushed for land reform and violence erupted between poor peasants and police.
The Bloomberg / Business Week story has this interesting quote.
“What we’re seeing is increasingly the use of democratic institutions for anti-democratic means,” Christopher Sabatini, senior policy director at the Council of the Americas in New York, said in an interview.

Good work by the Paraguayan Senate in using completely legal and constitutional means to get rid of their own version of Hugo Chavez, regardless of the opinion of a guy who works for a hemispheric chamber of commerce. The people who run those companies probably have no idea what that group says and does. A lot of them would likely be happy to have the leftist Lugo legally shown the door — at least the ones who can find Paraguay on a map!
