The third hour of the Michael Savage Nation is usually prerecorded and put together by Talk Radio Network, although Savage’s contract allows him to opt-in to do the third hour live. Frequently that hour is filled with prerecorded scripted “Interviews” that have been arranged, with various degrees of input by Savage – some are just prerecorded dropins where he says something like “My, that’s very interesting”. Others appear to actually be done talking to the person, but still tightly scripted with Savage reading from the prearranged topics that the guest wants to talk about.
When you know that the third hour of the show is created offline before Hour 1 and Hour 2, interesting things show up, like today.
During the live part of the show, Savage was railing some more at the Republicans and how they are deliberately trying to lose again by running Romney (like they did with McCain in 2008), and he specifically lashed out at the Henry Kissinger folks beyond all of this.
Then the third hour, Savage has an extended scripted interview with a woman who twice identifies herself as someone who used to work for Kissinger and admires him – she was talking about events in the Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood and how that could affect Israel, our Friend in the region. Savage was polite and no hint about his feelings about Kissinger.
When you know he does the live show after the recorded hour, that takes on a whole new significance – he possibly was using the live show to lash out at the prerecorded show he knew was coming. He also in the past few days lashed out at companies selling testosterone supplements, followed almost right away by an ad for a company pushing those exact things.
Savage has said in a number of ways that he is a prisoner trapped by his contract with TRN with no way to get out – he tried to move to Westwood One when his contract was up for renewal, but failed and thinks he has no option but to be their slave for the rest of his life. Perhaps the bird trapped in the gilded cage is trying to open the door.
I sort of want to feel sorry for Savage. Then again, he is such an arrogant and condescending person who doesn’t let facts get in the way of his often unusual positions on things that I can’t do it.
Fooey on Savage. Fooey on his third hour. I am gone after the third minute.
Savage has the best program on the radio.
You love him or not…
A conservative that doesn’t tow the party line
to the T like the rest of the egg heads.
He nails it
Savage is not a Conservative. He is an entertainer with a radio show.
Do you enjoy it at all art?
Who would be your favorite you like listening too
on the radio?
Is there something I should know about savage
that I am just being a blind fan boy** ?
