I respect his ability to say what he believes. He is opinionated, sincere and charitable. He puts his money and actions where his mouth is. When he said those inappropriate comments that everyone else gets to keep repeating, he faced the situation like a man and accepted responsibility for his actions. I have really missed him on the air and look forward to his new program. I believe it's his self-deprecating humor that I enjoy the most. When he cuts people, anyone is up for grabs. I like that, too.

Imus did something very bad. Two weeks punishment may have seemed too litle, but forever seems too much. But in a world where we have a President who believes he's a KING, there's no wonder a coprporate entity can take the stance of being a monarchy. I did not realize the power Sharpton and Jackson has, WOW! Don't piss them off! They wouldn't have missed this opportunity to have their ugly mugs on TV for the world! Don gave them their material, that is unfortunate. Sharpton and Jackson are both comics and satiriests in their own right, I mean in their own... well, they really aren't much, short of trouble makers. NBC, GE, MSNBC and CBS are now the punks of Sharpton and Jackson! I am soliciting a list of those who decided to pull their sponsorhships from the tv and radio show now, when I get the list I will no longer patronize or spend a dime with those companies, EVER, AGAIN. EVER. I've already cancelled my American Express I've had for 35 years and spend on average $180,000 a year on. Hope they feel the hurt if more like me to this. I also cancelled my AMEX Business card, which we spent multi-millions annually.

this show would get the real decision/influencer on the show as guests - allowing us to hear them directly. Imus has shown that he digs into the topics and is prepared for the discussions - sometimes has great dialogs that you would never hear of a guest.

I have listened to and or watched Don Imus for many years. In spite of silly or innappropiate remarks sometimes, NEVER have I ever believed Mr. Imus to be a racist or bigot. I am extremely dissapointed by the lack of courage by MSNBC and CBS to stand up to the bulling demands made by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I feel as though I have lost a very important member of my family.

I will miss the imus show. It was the most informative show on msnbc. I do not agree with everything he says but I certainly recognize it as attempts at humor. I admire his dedication to the needs of our military, Kids with cancer, and his great interest in children with autism. Please consider that Sharpton and Jackson should not be held up with such self interest. If they really cared about everything they say they would be working directly with black children and families to build and encourage as opposed to being critical of the perceived enemy. Fox and friends were absolutely gleeful yesterday which is why I turned it off and found this streaming broadcast. Thank you for allowing the radiothon to continue. Aimee

i enjoy the imus in the am show, and have for years. when you choose to listen to him you quickly become aware that he certainly skates on the edge at times. although i do not always agree with the man, i appreciate his willingness to speak his mind. his show has always been entertaining and thought provoking. don imus was raised with the same societal, clearly racist comments and slurs that we all have been. sometimes words are used which should not be taken so literally. he was not spewing racial hatred, he made a comment with little thought of the implications and consequences. my mother always taught me, and i teach my children that if someone says something about you that you know is not true...you are just waisting your precious energy getting bent out of shape over it.never worth it. one should feel more confident in self than to let others comments, belittle ones sense of self. in my opinion it is not america that has spoken about the firing of imus, rather jackson, and sharpton and other groups and organizations which jumped on the bandwagon..using imus as a scapegoat for issues far beyond his control. and by the way, as long as we are speaking about racist comments, jackson and sharpton can certainly afford to take a personal inventory. they are rightous, loud and most pathetic..hipocritical. by the way i am a licensed clinical social worker who pasionately believes in justice and fight daily to negate stereotypes. one last comment; people who are offended by his sometimes questionable comments have the choice not to listen. for example, i do not care for rush limbaugh. i do not respect him. i do not listen to him. i respect don imus and appreciate his honesty. i enjoyed his show and am looking forward for america to really speak out and then....i will be listening to his broadcasts again.

Imus dismissal from MSNBC and CBS was not based on high principles, but rather because Imus is not liked by his contemporaries, Al Roker and Tucker Carlson et al. They were pleased to have an excuse to come after him. Yes, some of the show's features are regularly obnoxious and inappropriate, his comment about the Rutgers team was indefensible, and I disagree with Imus' personal political views, but overall, the show is more insightful and informative and entertaining than most. The conversstions with leading political figures are less canned and more informative than on other programs, with the exception of Hardball, perhaps because Imus' irreverence and cynicism keeps his guests a little more on their toes or perhaps because he gives them more air time than they can have on other shows. A sad commentary on the state of our broadcast media. Personally, I find Imus more entertaining than all those superficial, syrupy morning show hosts who switch their tone from serious to frivolous at each change of the teleprompter screen.

I love/hate Imus and will follow his show wherever it goes, as a liberal he makes me grind my teeth at times but he is such a hoot that I just roll with it, after all he insults EVERYONE pretty equally and he just cracks me up. Imus in the Morning is a great show -- entertaining, witty, good music, great guests, intelectually stimulating, never politically correct. MSNBC should be embarassed how they were steamrolled by racists like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson into dropping the show. Guests and topics are always interesting and thought-provoking. He and his guests raise awareness of many topics that I may not have known about in such detail. I discoved the Imus in the Morning radio show on MSNBC, therefore I am devastated by their decision to stop the simulcast. Although I find his humor juvenile and mean (making fun of stroke-victom Brian Wilson, fat people etc.) Imus has some fantasticly informative, intelligent guests and terrific live musical performances. His show was my favorite ever, and I think he exposed America to some issues and ponts of view we would never have heard elsewhere. I am greatful for your web site, and have bookmarked it. Thank you for making Imus'show available.

I've been watching Don Imus for years. Dislike the promotion of his likes in country music. Don Imus calls it like it is with the political issues. Need more of that. His remarks about the basketball team players in question was unfair in his remarks , BUT NOt to be fired from MSNBC.His good works with children out way his coments by far. One only has to look at his involvment of our troups, (New Hospital In texas) the mess at walter reed brought a clamor of the government to clean up the mess out troups coming back with war injuries have to live with. NOw Msnbe bailed out on Don Imus After NOT KEEPING THEIR WORD ABOUT A TWO WEEK LSYOFF. I feel that The Black leaders at msnbc wanted him off the air long befor this episode. Sharpton & Jackson better clean up their act and quit being hipocrits , saying race issues are to blame with the white community, when in fact The black community seems to foster such trash as RAP Lyrics against their own people. If all whites are to blame for the black folks plight in blaming slavery on their failures, I don"t see their so called religious leaders standing up to help get the blacks a Better school, education, and health care they so desperatly need. DOn Imus and his ranch does MOre for the Black childres And all races of childres then SHarpton,& J.Jackson ever tghought about. When MSNBC starts loosing their viewing audience, (as I am NOW ONE) maby ,just maby they will realize the poor advice from the leaders at MSNBC is what brought them down. LETS HOPE. Keeping their word means nothing to MSNBC. REmember the old adage(STicks & Stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me)that still aplies today. I Hope you will print this all in it;s content with out deleating some of it. REMEMBER THE Constitution sbout FREE SPEACH?

My husband and I are up at 6AM, put on the coffee, grab the clicker and watch Imus. In the car by 7:30 where we listen to the show on the radio. There is one thing we know for sure - If you are a devoted listener, you would know that Imus is not a RACIST or women hater. Love the banter between him and his wife. They're fun! I guess the media believes we willl now all acclimate ourselves to the Katie Couric's of the world. All perky and everything nice. Totally sanitized "news". Don Imus's statements are sometimes highly offensive - ask any Catholic about Cardinal Egan - but they do let the air out of our puffed up authorities. And if he'd skewered Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, this would have flown. They are lacking in any moral authority and I wonder why the news stations can't find better representatives of the black race. Jackson said his comments on "Hymietown" were in private and that makes a difference. Only to him I think. At least Imus doesn't make excuses about the wrongness of what he said and especially who it affected. The target in this case were lovely and innocent young women and their pain is real. Ask yourself what Al Sharpton has in common with these young women and their coach besides race. Taking Imus off MSNBC as an "appropriate sanction" is a travesty and a disservice to the freedom of the airways.

Coach Stringer got it right, it is not about black or white but it is about green. MSNBC will be and should be stuck with Al and Jessee see how that works for them. I wonder what they are doing for black or white children? The class and grace that was displayed by coach Stringer and her wonderful team was overshadowed again, this time by the greed of MSNBC.

Don't let the recent controversy fool you -- Don Imus is a wonderful human being. I saw his comments live on MSNBC. They were inappropriately directed, for sure, but they were intended to comically point out that the Rutgers team was tough, and their opposition didn't appear to be. He is an incredible humanitarian having raised in excess of 100 million dollars for charity, and he is a great humorist.

Imus openly admist to being a registered Republican; however, he frequently supports both the campaigns and causes of Democrats. That make him a moderate - just like me. It's the only radio broadcast for MODERATES. The music industry guests are GREAT! As a military mom, his support of the US military is fantastic! I work from home - get up at 6:00, grab some caffeine, and cut on Imus. Listen to him til the show goes off. He's being scapegoated and I will NEVER watch an MSNBC show again. I love the Imus in the Morning show. It's entertaining and funny. I was listening the morning he made "the comment" and thought, "He's gone over the line with this one." He has admitted as much and I believe is sincerely sorry, regretful, and ashamed of his behavior. I think he needs to meet with the offended parties and we need to move on. I was terribly disappointed to see he was canceled on MSNBC this morning.

Hi, I watch Imus almost every day. I think the show is balanced politically and rightfully so attacks public figures who do dumb things or who are dogmatic in their view. More criticism of Bush would be welcome though. The selection of guests are also balanced giving different views on political issues. Hopfully, Imus will overcome this latest storm and continue to provide entertainment to the public. I think it was rather chicken of msnbc to bail out after P&GOD, Staples and others bailed. The first thing I thought was to avoid P&G product. I think I will. If CBS drops him, I hope he will go private. I will find the station. Maybe an internet site. Hang in there Imus. I really enjoy the Don Imus show. It really kills me that his recent comments have caused such an uproar. I hear these types of remarks daily on the radio or TV, but it is only made into a big ordeal if someone of another race is involved and it is said by a white person. If he would have said this about a completely white team or if an African American host said this about an all white team, it would be perfectly okay. There would be some complaining, but they wouldn't end up losing their job like Don Imus might. I can't wait for us to one day truely be an equal society. Right now, you have to be careful about what you say about another race...unless it's said against a white person. If you say something against a white person, it wouldn't offend anyone and you wouldn't lose your job. One of these days, maybe we will finally be an equal society, but that will never happen if everything...EVERYTHING...is turned into a black and white issue. It's funny, because I hear people say that this person was being racist to me when I went to the store. Maybe some people should step back and watch the situation. Maybe that sales person is just a rude person. Maybe they are rude to everyone of every color. Just because something doesn't work out as planned doesn't mean it happened that way due to the color of your skin. I know there are still some racist people in America, but just because a minority is involved in something doesn't mean it was due to their race. Sometimes...people are just rude and the color of your skin has nothing to do with it. Anyway, the IMUS show ROCKS!!!!!

I enjoy being able to listen to the news correspondents discuss their opinions on issues, not just the reporting of them; his political guests include liberals and conservatives alike so there isn't any one-sided representation, and he seems to have a good relationship with these guests. I hear of politicians of whom I'm usually not be aware, and the interviews with writers are good because I hear about books I might be interested. I have actually bought a few from his interviews. The humor does get adolescent at times even though any and all fall prey to their remarks, including each other. (second round of remarks) It was a show that for some reason we started watching after 9/11. Prior to that I had heard of Don Imus but didn't know anything about him or his show. After listening for awhilw I found that usually I agreed on his take of the issues. As I said earlier about politicians that guest on his show, I really do like the fact that so many politicians, both Dem and Rep, seem to relish being interviewed on his show. It's probably the only place wherer I will take the time to listen to a politician of the "other side" discuss their views. His respect level also appears to be high among the news correspondants. These dialogs he has with them are also interesting. After Bill Maher this is one of the few places where they can speak their peace.

The first time i saw/listened to him i thought the cowboy hat thing was ridiculous, but as i listened i found him to be trying too hard to be a 70 something version of Howard Stern, if emulation is what a host is going to do rather than create his own persona why not emulate someone who is worth listening to.

The show has become a non-stop promo for NBC and MSNBC programming. Plus, we already get too much of the same old guests he has on through other venues. Frank Rich, MoDo, Andrea Mitchell, etc. I used to be loyal to the I-Man when he was just on WFAN, but he's become pathetic over the last few years. Started with the ranch. I watch FNC in the morning, but occassionally flip to MSNBC only to see the same old lame MSM idiots or the same half dozen or so Senators sucking up to Imus. It's old and stale. I think Imus would have packed it in a while ago, but he needs his crappy show to raise money for the ranch.

Imus asks the best questions of anyone on talk radio. He asks the questions and waits for the answers. When the guest talks, he lets them and does not interupt. I have lived all over the country and feel he is the best. He also attracts the best guests. A little less fund raising for his favorite causes would be appreciated.

I like the I-Man. Needs Sid back. Bernie bout as funny as anyone could be. Rob should entertain seniors in a home instead. Larry funny but just treats it like another 9-5. Jeff Greenfield should die. Chris carlin make my radio look overweight. Put sum gravy on dat sumbitch.

Has great variety of guests, spends more time talking to guests then anyone else on air, pushes issues that no one else touches (upping gi death benefit from $10,000 to $250,000, autisum)He is a aquired taste, but worth your time & effort.

Great guests whose opinions are challenged. Very entertaining & funny. Many points of view on subjects. Not strictly left-wing or right-wing show.

This is a show for old guys who like to gripe and don't care about facts. Has the tired, old local-station-style side kicks who do the Ed McMahon laugh when they think he got a zinger in. It's really pathetic. Usually sounds like he couldn't care less about the topic but really just wants to dump on a guest to have a sound bite for another commercial.

Without a doubt, this is the best morning show (or anytime) that is on the airways. Imus has cleaned up the show to the extent that certain issues may be "touched" but not to the extent that they become obscene (witness the final removal of Sid, the person who formally did the sports news). I would hope that there could be a time slot, in the afternoon, where a "Best of Imus" could be aired, perhaps when most are driving home, so that many more could hear this show and be informed and entertained.

I've been listening - and/or watching it on MSNBC - almost every weekday for 6 or 7 years... Imus is considered one of - if not the best - interviewer in the business. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE LIKE IMUS IN THE MORNING ON THE AIR - TV OR RADIO - ANYWHERE. (and of course, there's NO ONE LIKE THE I-MAN - anywhere - to which many would reply "Thank God") <

When Sid is on, I turn the show off. I understand that Imus wants to give friends chances because he was given many chances to change, but I (and many of my friends) cannot stand Sid, period. Sid needs to go.
