Dennis Miller is a human thesaurus. He can also be extremely funny at times. But his radio show is sort of hit-or-miss. Here are ten reasons why: First, a lot of his guests are people that no one cares about. I just change the station when he has some 90 year old washed up Hollywood hack on. Second, he has the absolute worst callers in talk radio. You almost never hear a caller to his show make a good point or say something genuinely funny. Third, he uses these odd slang terms - calling everyone "cat," for example - and uses obscure Yiddish terms all the time. Did he convert to Judaism or something? Fourth, he will often ridicule a guest immediately before the guest appears and then after the interview with the guest is over. This strikes me as both cowardly and rude. Fifth, the "soup of the day" segment is pointless and inane. Sixth, he does not prepare for the show at all. He'll ask his producer - on air - what guest is coming on in the next segment, and what they are supposed to talk about. Miller is good enough at improv that winging it works out fairly well for him, but most good radio show hosts have to do some modicum of prep work before a show. Seventh, his support for the military is I believe genuine, but he talks about how heroic the troops are a bit too much. I mean, we get it Dennis. You support the troops. So do I, but I don't have to mention it every hour. Eighth, he is extremely Islamophobic. He seems to believe that about 90% of Muslims in the world are terrorists who need to be crushed. He supports Israel unquestioningly, and seeks more wars in the Middle East. Ninth, he mumbles a lot when he's telling an anecdote. Tenth, he's sort of a RINO on a lot of issues.

Dennis Miller is, simply, brilliant. Thought-provoking and not afraid to speak with great intelligence (meaning = WILL NOT talk down to people ... EVER), his points can puncture any opposing argument. I try to get him on my local radio as often as I can, but I want to hear his streaming radio on the weekend while I do other stuff on the computer. I love listening to him because he makes SENSE.

I about cried when they moved his show to 11pm... the 1am on the local radio. I have to stream from internet. he has a different take on things and i need to laugh... or I'll just cry about what is going on! He is a fresh approach... and extremely smart & witty. I can't take other talk shows for longer than an hour at a time... always need a break, but i can listen to him for 3 hours and forget it's been that long.

very entertaining show. Dennis is a breath of fresh air in a genre dominated by shows that are so intense all of the time. Also he is not self-promoting all of the time like Beck, O'Reilly, Savage, etc. He is not contentious with guests/callers that he disagrees with but does make sure his point gets out there. His topics are varied and interesting and you can tell that he and his crew are having a good time. I bust out laughing several times a week. Henry in Tulsa

Always make my mornings go by quick, makes me laughs, great use of the english language and being of the same age some of his inside references really break me up. For my 3 hours per day there is no other radio personality that I would rather listen to. Only has rightwing guests on, like most talk show hosts, to be fair. Lacks understanding of basic scientific principles, such as evolution, when discussing the subject. Condescending, smug attitude to people who disagree with him. Obnoxious. Thinks he is funnier then he actually is though.

puts callers on hold too long and if they're not there waiting on phone he disses or tells to hang on through break and never gets back for revenge (or callers he doesn't like). the disrespect of people like Corsi, making fun of, there are others (Savage, etc) is disgusting. badgers callers instead of understanding, respect when doesn't like smallest thing. also, a little too much defending of lib friends like Franken, Maher, etc when a little balance is needed and not of some like Coulter when a friend disses them. I've listened from start but more and more do os less and less and probably stop soon. tooo much

This show is what radio is supposed to be. It is entertaining and intelligent conversation on a wide variety of topics, from serious issues to just fun stuff. Guests are the best from politics, sports, science, entertainment, and more. It is what radio and TV talk shows used to be about, before they just became infomercials for vapid celebs selling their latest bad movie or book.

I think Miller is a closet lib masquerading as a conservative so that people will actually listen to his radio talk show. He had Frank Keating (former Republican Governor of Oklahoma) on the other day, and Keating went after Obama as a radical. Keating cited Obama's adoration of Malcolm X and other black radicals. After the interview was over, Miller ripped on Keating for a couple segments for supposedly going off the deep end. But the facts support Keating (Obama attended the "Million Man March" and his own memoir praises Malcolm X, for example). So yesterday, Miller had Dr. Jerome Corsi on his show. Corsi was citing facts about Obama's disturbing relationship with a radical left-wing Kenyan politician named Raila Odinga, who was educated in Communist East Germany. Odinga had encouraged violent protests that led to rioting and massive loss of life earlier this year after he lost a close election. Obama had supported this man, stood with him at rallies, and yet the mainstream media is completely silent about this. Miller spent the entire interview basically laughing in Corsi's face and making fun of him. For several segments after the interview, Miller continued to rip Corsi. Is this the behavior of a true conservative? I believe Miller views talk radio as just another acting role, and he's playing the part of a conservative. But he's really not a part of the conservative movement; he's just in it for the paycheck.

Since I'm not an entertainment buff, I find his show way too cryptic for me. It is full of inside jokes since I don't know who he is talking about or haven't seen the referenced film. HOWEVER, I think he is necessary to your schedule since I am not the normal Hollywood watcher and we need conservative entertainers to talk about conservative issues.

Dennis Miller's show is, in my opinion, the best show on radio. He covers a wide variety of topics and is never boring nor boorish. He is not full of himself and often lets his crew members speak as much as he does. His show is real. He is not putting on a show as much as he is just inviting us into his life. He often brings me to tears - either I am rolling on the floor or having to pull of the road b/c I am laughing too hard; or I am so deeply touched by how he speaks so lovingly of his wife and boys or by the honorifics he gives to anyone who has or is currently serving in the military. His show never bores me and I hate missing it. Don't get me wrong, I love Rush and have listened to him ever since discovering him back in the early 90's, but, I only listen to him when I catch him. The same goes for Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham. I listen to them when I catch them, but I don't feel like I am missing anything when I don't. I use this website to search out Dennis when I miss him on the radio. I don't get to listen to him everyday, but I try. His is the only show to which I am seriously considering subscribing. His show is unpredictable. It is new everyday. For example, so far on the show I am listening to today, in the first hour he has had Debbie the lady who made the green grocery bags, and Richard C. Hoagland who is usually just heard on Coast to Coast AM. Dennis is willing to give just about any reasonable person a chance to make their case. Yet, Dennis does not let anyone get away with doubious info. Besides all this, listening to this show expands my vocabulary - in a good way.

Overall a good show considering it is still in it's infancy. Miller would do well to check out Boortz' web page, particular the idea of posting program notes BEFORE the show. That is one indispensable thing about Boortz - the listener's can hop on line and get a rough idea where the show is heading each day. Boortz is not going to be around forever, and the only person capable of filling that market is Miller. Hopefully as his syndication continues to grow, he will no longer charge for total site access. I like Miller's appeal to secular conservatives and people with libertarian views. There is a huge untapped market for young, successful people who are fiscally conservative, yet do not particularly think the government belongs in our bedrooms. I am sure he is no hit among the snake handling yayhoos who think they own the Republican Party, but hey, the radio has a dial and there is a cornucopia of hosts out there that already cater to their fundamentalist beliefs, fear and hatred of homosexuals, and constant concern with what other people are doing in their personal lives (abortion seems to be numero uno). Best wishes to Dennis, Boogification

He is entertaining, glib, and easy to listen to while at work. He shies away from name-calling, yet shares honest opinions on a variety of topics. He is not just political, and will occasionally add entertainment topics, stories of people he's known "in the biz" and that makes it entertaining. Also, he uses similies and metaphors like no one on the radio (or TV, for that matter) I've ever heard. Granted, it didn't fly in Monday Night Football, but it works great in his present format.

The diamond-hard edge that was Miller's forte in his comedy years is still there, but now it is couched in a smoother "understatedness" that makes impending blows to the solar plexus less expected. Miller is cerebral and searching, but he approaches dialog with the assuredness of a person who is comfortable both with his facts and with his emotions and opinions about them. Miller is a great change-up pitch from the usual fast-balling "Conservative" hosts who do yeoman's in their own rights. He's worth a good listen, always.

Dennis Miller just repeats the same "facts" that his right wing radio friends come up with, and mixes in some jokes and arcane references that he's been telling since 2001. He gets great guests but thats because he's famous. Tell me how a guy who's never done radio before starts off with 100 affiliates? Scandalous. The show is just boring and devoid of honesty. Nothing new there.

Refreshing, interesting, fun, good guests including current info on terrorism from experts ,entertaining life stories. Expresses political and life views very close to mine. Supports the fight against the biggest threat to the civilized world.

Dennis Miller is a breath of fresh air in talk radio. He is extremely intelligent and literate and can express himself clearly and succinctly. He changes up on topics often, going from sports, to politics, to show business, etc.

I love this show. Best talk show on radio. Right winger, more or less, not a Repblican shill like most others. He should take over for Imus.

Witty, calm and thoughtful. Does not preach to the choir but presents his arguments and opinions in a respectful and cogent manner that is more likely to win over opposing thinkers. To top it off he throws in a lot of humor and a bit of insider Hollywood stuff. His side kick, Salmon (sp?), is smart and funny, too.

Dennis has a refreshing viewpoint on just about every topic he chooses to discuss. This show is a real breath of fresh air because it doesn't lean at 90 degrees to either the right or the left. Most talk shows do, and get real old real fast. I'm glad I found this show, and I found it here (thank you!)
