If Divine Providence is correct - that God knows and controls everything that happens - why did the Wars from 1095 to 1291 AD to recapture the Holy Land for Christianity (the Crusades) fail?

The Crusades was pretty children with bouquets of flowers, it wasn't a "war
It happened per Monty Python and the Holy Grail
The crusaders were not true to their faith and God punished them .
It was God's will
The Lord works in mysterious ways
People living in an area always have an advantage over invaders
Divine Providence is wrong
The Pope misunderstood God's instructions
Divine Providence has nothing to do with Christianity
Allah is stronger than the Christian God
You're wrong - we did take the Holy Land back from Islam in 1291 AD
Arab culture was more advanced than European
Wikipedia - hahaha
That never happened - it was a work of fiction during the middle ages
