

{"id":1632,"date":"2011-07-16T11:49:19","date_gmt":"2011-07-16T15:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/streamingradioguide.com\/startingover\/?p=1632"},"modified":"2011-07-16T11:50:25","modified_gmt":"2011-07-16T15:50:25","slug":"who-is-abdel-elah-mohamed-alkhatib","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/streamingradioguide.com\/startingover\/?p=1632","title":{"rendered":"Who is Abdel-Elah Mohamed Alkhatib?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So this &#8220;Group of 30&#8221; countries meeting in Turkey [significant], has decided that\u00a0Abdel-Elah Mohamed Alkhatib will negotiate on behalf of the &#8220;Real&#8221; Libyan government. \u00a0 [Just as an aside, does this legal recognition mean Qadaffi is the leader of the &#8220;Rebel&#8221; government now, and freed from things like following the Geneva convention and his troops are now civilians?]<\/p>\n<p>Mr Alkhatib has been the &#8220;United Nations Special Envoy of the Secretary General to the Libyan Arab Jamahriya&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.europanewsblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/EuropaNewswire468945_SM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the name of the Country of Libya run by Qaddafi (up until now) &#8211; the full name is<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Great Socialist People&#8217;s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya&#8221; &#8211; don&#8217;t lose sight of that fact that Qaddafi is a Socialist in every sense of the word. \u00a0 \u00a0&#8220;Jamahiriya&#8221; roughly means &#8220;The masses&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So Ftiday&#8217;s announcement is the Interim Council has agreed to allow the UN representative to their country to tell the rest of the world what it is they want. \u00a0[Money, Cash, Weapons]. \u00a0China and Russia are not on board with any of this, and won&#8217;t be allowing the UN Security Council to recognize the &#8220;New Libya&#8221;, so the fiction continues. \u00a0 President Clinton says that in mere days (not weeks or months), Gaddaffi will be gone any day now.<\/p>\n<p>His report to the contact group was that there is no solution. \u00a0The &#8220;Rebels&#8221; in Benghazi say they will not entertain any idea that leaves Ghadaffi alive and\/or in the country, and Qaddafi says he isn&#8217;t going anywhere. \u00a0 Deadlock.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmi.edu.jo\/en\/node\/314\">partial biography<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Abdel Elah Al Khatib is a former Minister of Foreign Affairs in Jordan.
