For those too young to remember, Chuch Harder had a significant nationally syndicated radio show, in part because he was supported by labor unions over his opposition to NAFTA. He was a major backer of H. Ross Perot in 1992. His radio show and network was called “for the people”, based out of his hotel in Florida.<\/p>\n
He at one point tried to buy UPI, but failed. He and the labor folks had a falling out and his influence waned. He had a car accident that left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair. His focus turned to disability rights.<\/p>\n
