So there is this curious thing about the New York Times<\/a> and Washington Post<\/a> leaking the information about the “spy” inside the Trump campaign, except not naming him. While not revealing his name, they listed so many details that it would be impossible to not know who he is – especially to the two Trump officials who had contact with him in 2016, and Michael Flynn in 2014. Why would these two anti-trump publications want to disclose the source who was giving information to the FBI to give them the basis of opening an investigation? Perhaps they hoped that Donald Trump would disclose the information to the public and ensnare him in a legal quagmire? <\/p>\n

The “fake news” (as determined by Google) publication Daily Caller<\/a> had given the name several days earlier, and Glenn Greenwald has confirmed that it’s correct – that everybody in the intelligence community knows who they were talking about. Stefan Halper<\/a> has done work for the CIA and MI6 – although retirement age, he is being paid $200,000 a year for research that is classified.<\/p>\n

Halper is not a leftist Obama liberal. His employment history includes being an assistant to Al Haige, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney. He set up the legal defense fund for Oliver North. He is married to the daughter of the late Ray S Cline<\/a>. Cline was part of the OSS, the WW2 Agency that would evolve into the CIA. Cline was the CIA expert during the Cuban missile crisis. <\/p>\n

As bad as this sounds for Democracy, I think there was legitamite concern inside the government that Trump’s knowledge of relationships between the United States and other governments was based on listening to Alex Jones podcasts in the middle of the night.
