That’s the title of a video on the NY Times web site. I was expecting to see a video about how mean we’re being to Canadians trying to slip into the country illegally (haha!).

It’s quite an interesting development. They showcase a woman who was brought into the United States as an 11 year old (and undoubtedly given a fine free public education and health care). She is terrified that the Border Patrol is now checking people trying to sneak out of the country, and thinks the US laws are crazy. According to the NY Times (Don’t forget they were saved from failing by a rich Mexican billionaire), she is “returning to a country she barely remembers“, but oddly a bit later we find out that her husband lives across the border in Mexico and they have a child together (the child is not with her – perhaps staying with grandma?). Perhaps the purpose of her visit is to create another anchor baby in 9 months.

The purpose of this new practice is supposedly to keep drug money and guns from leaving the United States, and to find criminals trying to leave so the United States can keep them inside the United States.

I suspect at least a part of this is to build up the infrastructure to clamp down on US citizens in the future trying to take their money over the border to move it out of the control of the taxing and banking authorities of the United States government. Barney Frank believes the United States owns your money and your wealth and you have no right to leave the country with it and never come back.
