The pregame stuff is going on, and The Coach is telling us the names of all the officials and all that important stuff….\u00a0 in the background you can hear the PA announcer say “And now, the National Anthem”…<\/p>\n
Back to the “Coach”:\u00a0 “And now we’re going to take a break for the National Anthem”.<\/p>\n
Silly me, I thought he meant he was going to show respect for the United States and stop blathering about the name of the line judge and referee so we could hear the National Anthem.<\/p>\n
What he really meant was “Guys, back at the studio – get ready to roll the advertisements for that hot dog place that sponsors this game”.<\/p>\n
New Haven has been an official sanctuary city for illegal immigrants for a number of years, so I guess I see why WELI needs to dump out to a commercial for foot long chili cheeze dogs so as to not offend any listeners from Mexico who listen to high school football games on a Friday night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
