Jerry Pearce is the “Radio Detective”.<\/p>\n
No, not some Radio Drama from the 1930s, although when you listen it would be easy to make that mistake.<\/p>\n
Jerry Pearce claims to be a Private Detective from Calfornia who has worked in law enforcement, which is probably true. \u00a0 His guests also tend to be shadowy folks with vague employment histories who “know things”…<\/p>\n
His show is carried on GCN – the all conspiracy, all the time radio network, best known for its superstar Alex Jones.<\/p>\n
So I was preparing for Christmas by listening to the show at 3 AM in the morning, and it was pretty darn disturbing (in addition to bad radio).<\/p>\n
The nearest fictional person I can compare Jerry Pearce to is Archie Bunker, which I sense he would take as a compliment.\u00a0 He’s part of the generation whose only cultural reference is the good times of the 1950s, WW2 and killing all the commies (The same ones who were our allies during WW2)<\/p>\n
So he had a pair of very lucid well informed callers talking to him about the military authorization bill.\u00a0\u00a0 His guest was a 5 term district attorney (never heard a mention of where or when)…\u00a0 The callers are concerned about the provision that would allow President Obama to have U.S. Citizens in the United States be arrested and held indefinitely without trial with no due process and based on things as vague as having more than a week’s supply of food in their house..<\/p>\n
A recurring theme of both callers was “I don’t trust the government any more”, which I tend to believe is widely felt (except for those with a government paycheck).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So they danced around President Obama’s personal history, even dropping the hint that his background is so vague because he is a lifelong CIA asset (a pretty extreme claim, but not the first time I’ve heard it).<\/p>\n
After tap dancing and pussy footing around the idea that the United States is on the edge of a civil war between the Commies (Obama and his friends) and the muslims and the Mexicans –\u00a0 and the “Good Americans” with hunting licenses and Bibles, thing eventually got to the point.\u00a0 He wasn’t clear who exactly the “Good Americans” would be shooting at and murdering.\u00a0\u00a0 Probably people who don’t pray to Jesus or have college educations, or something.<\/p>\n
The caller made this same point twice, which went something like this and had no reasonable response:<\/p>\n
Caller:\u00a0 I don’t trust the government any more.
\nJerry:\u00a0 I agree with you – I don’t trust the government any more.\u00a0\u00a0 But I do trust the U.S. Military.
\nGuest:\u00a0 Yes, I agree with that.
\nCaller:\u00a0 Ummm… but President Obama is the Commander in Chief of the Military
\nJerry:\u00a0\u00a0 Don’t worry your paranoid head off, little lady \u00a0 That’s not a problem.\u00a0 I trust the military.<\/p>\n
Oh?\u00a0 So what does that mean?\u00a0\u00a0 Is there an active plan underway by the U.S. Military to suspend the Consitution and seize control of the government?\u00a0 Does Jerry have some friends of friends who are about to launch a Coup d’etat?\u00a0 Do we have to destroy Democracy to save it?<\/p>\n
