

{"id":3862,"date":"2011-12-28T06:30:52","date_gmt":"2011-12-28T11:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/streamingradioguide.com\/startingover\/?p=3862"},"modified":"2011-12-28T06:34:26","modified_gmt":"2011-12-28T11:34:26","slug":"tax-the-corporations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/streamingradioguide.com\/startingover\/?p=3862","title":{"rendered":"Tax the Corporations!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While listening to professional agitators heckling Mitt Romney on a video, there are three numbers that should be at the front of any candidate&#8217;s mind:<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-soi\/08co01ccr.xls<\/p>\n<p>From 2008:<\/p>\n<p>Total Taxable income of all US Corporations:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $978 billion<br \/>\nCorporate Income Tax\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $342 billion<\/p>\n<p>2011 Budget Deficit\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $1,229 billion<\/p>\n<p>The taxable income that the Federal government needs can only be found one place &#8211; the middle class of America.\u00a0\u00a0 Corporations are not a pot of gold that can be shoplifted to get free stuff.<\/p>\n<p>Romney makes the statement that &#8220;Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid account for &#8220;about half&#8221; of Federal spending.\u00a0\u00a0 Is he right?<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.usgovernmentspending.com\/federal_budget_fy11bs12011n_00#usgs302<\/p>\n<p>Total FY 2011 expenditures\u00a0 &#8211; $3,720\u00a0 billion<br \/>\nSocial Security\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $766 billion<br \/>\nMedicare\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $457 billion<br \/>\nMedicaid (Federal)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 $275 billion<br \/>\nTotal of 3 items\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 $1,498\u00a0 billion<\/p>\n<p>which is 40%.<\/p>\n<p>So what does &#8220;about&#8221; mean&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p>This statistic is misleading even so &#8211; Medicaid is a State program &#8211; one that is madated by the Federal Government, for which they only pays about 2\/3 part of the cost &#8211;
