Gordon Liddy was of course the guy deeply involved in the Watergate breakin and the one guy who went to prison rather than rat out Richard Nixon.\u00a0 Mr Liddy firmly believes at this point that Howard<\/strike> John Dean, rather being the guy with a conscience who cared about doing what was right, had organized\u00a0 the breakin in order to retrieve information about his wife being part of a prostitution ring run by the Democrats and had nothing to do with anything Richard Nixon cared about, but when caught, Nixon made the mistake of covering for the people involved rather than having them prosecuted.<\/p>\n
Liddy has been doing a radio show for as long as I’ve had the directory, syndicated by a curious outfit called Radio America<\/a>, that is owned by the American Studies Center, a non-profit Washington DC lobbying group that generally advocates for more government spending on Veterans.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Roger Hedgecock and Todd Schnitt are also syndicated by Radio America.<\/p>\n I remember G Gordon Liddy saying that he would do the show up until the day he died.\u00a0 According to my math he is 81 years old.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of the long running features of his show is the annual “Stacked and Packed” calendar, featuring “hot” women (mainly his show producer) in bathing suits holding high powered weapons.\u00a0\u00a0 This calendar created some “issues” with people on the religious right and it appears he stopped doing it a few years ago.<\/p>\n My count (which only includes those stations that stream) is he is on 6 radio stations, only one of which airs the entire show live (plus he is carried by CRN).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The past few times I’ve listened, it was clear he is slowing down – he may have the Will to keep doing the show, but the Ability is another matter.\u00a0 Mrs Liddy died in 2010, and it is not uncommon for men with long term successful marriages to lose interest in life when their spouse dies.<\/p>\n Liddy wil be replaced by Peter Schiff<\/a>, who already has a show on Radio America.\u00a0 Shiff is one of those “the sky is falling, buy gold quick” guys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I detect a pattern.
