

{"id":5184,"date":"2012-06-07T07:37:09","date_gmt":"2012-06-07T12:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/streamingradioguide.com\/startingover\/?p=5184"},"modified":"2012-06-07T07:37:09","modified_gmt":"2012-06-07T12:37:09","slug":"us-senate-primary-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/streamingradioguide.com\/startingover\/?p=5184","title":{"rendered":"US Senate Primary results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Obscured \u00a0by the media circus in Wisconsin, some states had primary elections.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">California<\/span> had this strange non-partisan primary where the two top vote getters in the primary will face each other in November, even if they were both Democrats or a Demkcrat and a Green party candidate. \u00a0To nobody&#8217;s surprise, Diane Feinstein easily won, with 49.3% of the vote. \u00a0The #2 vote getter \u00a0was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emken2012.com\/\">Elizabeth Emken<\/a>, who got 12.5%<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/vote.sos.ca.gov\/returns\/us-senate\/<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Emken is a relatively young Republican &#8211; she has never held elective office and the focus of her life and her campaign is to siphon more money out of the U.S. Military budget to treat children with Autism.<\/p>\n<p>So if you&#8217;re keeping track of the balance of power in the Senate, put this race in the &#8220;no chance in hell&#8221; column<\/p>\n<p>In<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Montana,<\/span> the Democratic incumbent is Jon Tester.\u00a0\u00a0 President Obama only got 47% of the vote in Montana, so in theory the Republicans have a chance.\u00a0 Denny Rehberg won the Republican Primary.\u00a0 In the past, he was lieutenant governor and currently sits in the US House.<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/electionresults.sos.mt.gov\/resultsSW.aspx?type=FED&#038;map=CTY<\/p>\n<p>Noteworthy is that 14% of the Republicans still &#8220;wasted&#8221; their vote on Ron Paul.\u00a0\u00a0 Rehberg got 75% of the Republican primary vote &#8211; he was opposed by only one person &#8211; Dennis Teske &#8211; a farmer and businessman, pro-life, pro-family candidate with no prior political experience.<\/p>\n<p>In New Jersey, Bob Menendez (D) is running for reelection for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.nj.gov\/state\/elections\/2012-results\/2012-unofficial-primary-results-senate-0606-425.pdf<\/p>\n<p>Menendez was unopposed and got about 235,000 votes.<\/p>\n<p>The Republicans running:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/joekyrillos.com\/victory\/\">Joe Kyrillos<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; 161,146<br \/>\nDavid Brown &#8211; 18,671<br \/>\nBader Qarmount\u00a0 &#8211; 12,637<br \/>\nRudy Rullo &#8211; 16,690<\/p>\n<p>Kyrillos is a NJ State senator currently.\u00a0\u00a0 He wants to repeal Obamacare and is an ally of Chris Christie.\u00a0\u00a0 He&#8217;s been in the NJ State government since 1988 &#8211; basically your life long &#8220;public servant&#8221;, aka &#8220;Republican Establishment&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>If you look at this list and think &#8220;One of these names is not like the others&#8221;, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgq4nj.com\/\">Bader Qarmount<\/a> is apparently from the Jordanian American branch of the Republican Party.\u00a0 He&#8217;s an Arab American whose Christian family fled Jordon to come to America.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>New Mexico<\/strong>, it&#8217;s an open seat.\u00a0\u00a0 In the Senate, a seat from a state with a small population counts just as much as the seat from California.<\/p>\n<p>The Republicans chose a Diverse Woman candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/heatherwilson.com\/\">Heather Wilson<\/a>. \u00a0 She appears to be the social butterfly of Social Media. \u00a0 I can&#8217;t find any useful information beyond the annoying popups wanting me to sign up for her newsletter, join here on Twitter and Facebook and sign up for text messages on my cell phone.<\/p>\n<p>She&#8217;ll face <strong>Martin Heinrich<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 Martin is just barely old enough to run for Senate.\u00a0\u00a0 He replaced Heather in the US House after the 2008 Obama election, and has done nothing with his life other than &#8220;public service&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico has a very large Native American population, which has been largely pandered to by the Democrats.\u00a0\u00a0 Obama won big in 2008, and substantially more people voted in the Democratic primary than the Republican.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you&#8217;re keeping score, this goes into the &#8220;Very Unlikely to go Republican&#8221; column.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obscured \u00a0by the media circus in Wisconsin, some states had primary elections.
