Babylon is 91% &#8220;white&#8221; with an average household income of $97,000<\/p>\n<p>The LIRR has a fleet of about 1100 cars.  This state of the art facility will be able to clean the exteriors of &#8220;up to&#8221; 320 rail cars a day <\/p>\n<p>The Babylon station is 38.8 miles from Penn Station &#8211; the Eastern end of the electrified portion of the Montauk branch &#8211; which means that very little of their fleet is based in Babylon, so cars will have to be sent empty 20 miles out from the Hillside Maintenance facility to get their &#8220;green&#8221; car wash.<\/p>\n<p>The price of this wonderful facility to clean the windows for the Wall Street bankers to ride to work was a mere $25.5 million.
