My follow up was partly a red herring, unfortunately I had a fact wrong, but the point is just as valid <\/p>\n
The older brother was over 21, a US citizen [that’s the mistake – it is the younger brother who was made a citizen last year], had no criminal convictions and no documented mental illness. On what basis should Massachusetts have denied him his right to own a gun?<\/p>\n
I knew at the time I wrote the above that Green Card holders (permanent resident aliens) have the same second amendment rights as US citizens. I wasn’t aware that Cambridge Mass had a case on this exact point after the Heller decision<\/p>\n
