Skokie Illinois is a suburb on the Northern edge of Chicago, about a 15 minute drive from where I live. It is most known as a place with a high concentration of Holocaust survivors (and now their children). Its 15 minutes of fame came when some folks claiming to be the KKK wanted a parade permit and the city turned them down. The ACLU intervened on behalf if the KKK

So the drunk driving industry has another casualty – the Skokie police took a 47 year old woman into custody for DUI – the police charged her with “resisting” the officer, which may be true since the video released today is from her attorney. It shows a police officer holding her arms behind her, and forcefully shoving her forward. Keep in mind she is allegedly “drunk”. When you look at her legs, she is very very thin which probably contributed to her alcohol level.<\/p>\n

She falls forward and hits her head on the concrete sitting area of the holding cell and bounces onto the floor motionless. Another officer eventually lifts up her head and sees a large pool of blood on the floor under her and they go into “oh shit, this is gonna be a lot of paperwork” mode.<\/p>\n
The resisting charge was dropped and she plead guilty to the DWI. Now the lawsuit starts.<\/p>\n
The officer involved is now on desk duty with no public contact. More than likely he’ll file a disability claim claiming PTSD from his trauma and be on a pension for the next 30 years. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
