It’s important to understand that Blue Cross and Shield was started by doctors nd hospitals. They exist to funnel money into the medical system and force prepayment of expenses so doctors and hospitals at least know they’ll get 70% of the bill before having to turn into collection agents. They are a cost+ pass through. BC\/BS is the only multistate provider in the Federal Exchange.<\/p>\n

Hospitals think nothing about building exotic hospitals that cost $5 million per bed and pay administrators millions in salary to boost revenue so people on CNBC can hype the prospects of forever zooming profits.<\/p>\n
