The 2nd most popular choice is currently “guide dogs for blind people”. Guide Dogs today are provided by several non profit organizations that handle the raising of the dogs and the training of the dogs and owners. There is no blind person without a guide who wants one and there is no government involvement. <\/p>\n
The only thing the government has done to regulate this is to make laws to prohibit restaurants and other public accommodations from prohibiting trained guide dogs. A lot of the training for the dogs and owners is to keep the job of the dog focused – so it will ignore other dogs, people’s misguided efforts to want to pet the dog and control of when and where the dog goes to the bathroom.<\/p>\n
