So my ACA compliant Blue Cross\/Shield policy with its $5,500 deductible was confirmed on December 5th with an indication I would receive my membership kit and ID card in two weeks. That would have been the 19th. Today is the 23rd, the final day to get coverage starting 1\/1\/2014. <\/p>\n
Because I’m a glutton for punishment, I called BCBS of North Carolina. You will be shocked to learn that the estimated hold time is “more than an hour”. The system offered a call back if I gave them a phone number. I’m sitting on the edge of my seat.<\/p>\n
While waiting, I’m now on hold with the ICHIP folks who may want to dispute the termination date of my Illinois HIPAA continuation coverage.<\/p>\n
