North Korea on Google Earth

NPR’s “On the Media” had a guest who runs “North Korea Economy Watch”.  He’s put together a Google Earth overlay of North Korea.

Given that the leader of North Korea has threatened the world with nuclear war, it’s worth a look.   The old pictures of Google Earth were very fuzzy.   Someone apparently lately is paying to have lots of satellite pictures made of North Korea.   Don’t take this the wrong way, but who needs a CIA intelligence unit when we have Google Earth?    People are more than willing to flag and identify the most obscure buildings and what goes on there.

Nothing beats freedom of the flow of information and a few billion sets of eyeballs.  It makes it very hard for governments to keep secrets.
