You will find that many stations have changed their schedules today, or switched formats. The reason is this is the start of the new ratings period for radio. It wasn’t your imagination if you noticed a lot of hosts took last week off.
It is also the beginning of baseball season, which is still popular on AM radio stations – although Major League Baseball does not permit streaming their game on affiliate stations (even if the team owns the station!). Until October, broken servers at night on AM stations should be assumed to be baseball games until proven otherwise.
Also, Daylight Saving Time is back, and days are getting longer, so AM stations stay on now until around 8 o’clock (depending on how far North they are).
Celebrate the change.
