A listener informed me (and I’ve confirmed) that Tammy Bruce has ended her weekend syndication with Talk Radio Network. She will continue to stream on the internet and make a podcast available. If it is technically possible, I’ll continue to link to her weekend show, even though doing so is a bit “out of policy” [I generally don’t link to internet-only streams]
The weekday show will continue, but I only know of one weekday affiliate – and it only carries one hour of the show.
*** July 2009 update ***
Tammy is dropping the her daily show as well, to go “fully independent” on the internet.
**** end update ***
Tammy mentions several times that she is frustrated because Radio carries so many baseball games in summer. That’s where experience in radio matters. Monica Crowley fell into the same trap. If you don’t get on the air before noon on the weekends (i.e. Kim Komando), your show will never work in weekend syndication. When it isn’t baseball, it’s college football or the NBA or ice hockey or NASCAR. AM radio makes much of its money from carrying weekend sports, and they will always be the priority for the program director. Weekend talk is what fills in the gaps between sporting events.
