The FCC database now reflects about 970 analog TV stations are no longer broadcasting. In about 2 weeks, the remainder (except for Low Power TV) will be turned off (They’re currently telling the stragglers why their TV no longer works).
The FCC has been flooded with Construction Permit requests from stations that want to increase power or move their transmitters, now that they’ve found out some of their stations no longer have as long of a “reach” – especially those on Low VHF (channels 2-6)
