The Streaming Quaality (1=bad,9=great) can now be modified by volunteers. The idea is that the better stations should sort to the front of the list.
If you would like to be involved in doing this (if you haven’t already):
- Become a registered user
- Sign up to be a Volunteer
- Read the definition of Streming Quality
- Start testing stations or programs
“Quality” is not how good the programming is, whether you like the station, if you work for the station, etc… it’s a combination of how fast does it start streaming and does the stream sound good and work reliably.
You have to listen to the stream for at least 30 seconds before you can rate it. You are awarded extra “points” for updating the rating.
There are massive points available for testing stations. Over 5,000 stations haven’t been tested in more than 90 days, which makes them worth more than 1,000 points each. As always, points are not redeemable for cash or anything of value. People with lots of points may be selected to do more important things in the future like editing program schedules.
