CBS Radio’s experiment in Radio “Freedom” closes its last chapter today.
Free FM was created after the departure of Howard Stern to Sirius satellite. Howard was replaced by David Lee Roth, Rover’s Morning Glory and Adam Corolla in various markets. Penn Jilette had a show for a while, Tom Leykis was on several of the stations.
KLSX in Los Angeles is pulling the plug on “Hot Talk” after today, and is switching to a music format. A few of the Free FM stations are airing Sports Talk, but KLSX was the last of the 11 stations still clinging to the male oriented talk format of Free FM.
Remember, Free-dom is slavery – slavery is Free-dom.
In related news, CBS has reported profits in 4th quarter of 2008 dropped 52%.
