The closing May 6 on our new home blew by without result. Two attorneys, several paralegals, two Realtors and two families cooled their jets instead because the Veterans Administration bureaucrats with no known names in unknown locations underwriting the VA loan required a few more check marks in a few more blocks on some newly discovered forms. The rescheduled closing May 7 aborted because these or other bureaucrats decided that the successful and accepted appraisal actually need two more comparables from the local real estate market. May 8 failed, too, because one, some, or all of the bureaucrats were not working on Saturday. So, maybe sometime next week. Or not. Now, please, someone tell me why the same government that can’t find its gluteus maxima with both hands should be making life-and-death health care decisions for the whole country. Oh, and please submit your request to reply to this message in quadruplicate to: Processing, 666 Blackhole Center, Washingdumb, D.C. 01010. Our staff may notify you of its decision soon.

And if they notify you of a decision, you will receive two or three letters from different people in the same department that contradict one another (this actually happened to me with the IRS.)

And you’ll get the letters 2 weeks after the deadline in the letter to reply to the letter.

And just when you are ready to move into your home, a typo will arise and they will have to do the whole thing over again, while you go cool your jets at your parents house. Don’t laugh, it happend to me.
