Perhaps something simple just changed in my settings, but I doubt it. The main research tools I’ve developed over the years rely on my ability to format a request to Google and place the results of that search inside a frame.
Some of you have seen the tool – on the left side, it lists the information from the SRGuide database (and the FCC). On the right side, if there is no known web site, it launches a query to try to find one (with several variations possible with another click).
This is probably security related, but maybe just Google not wanting people to “frame” its searches… perhaps an invisible main window watching via some javascript exploit is able to steal passwords as you login to google.
So my job just got a little bit harder. Finding web sites for stations is one of the most time consuming things there is – especially if the station is not very good about making their web site google friendly. This seems to have just happened today.
