Bar Inflation

Apple admitted today that the # of bars of signal strength is wrong. Two real bars may show up as 4 bars.

There have long been reports that the “AT&T problem” isn’t a problem with the AT&T network, but rather with the chipsets and antenna in the iPhone – and AT&T has been taking the blame to not lose their exclusivity for the iPhone.

Oddly, the news stories are implying that this is an iPhone 4 issue, at the same time saying the bug is years old. The iPhone 4 only came out a week ago.

Isn’t it interesting this “unexpected” discovery was made the day after Bloomberg reported the coming Verizon iPhone?

More bars in more places– even if they’re not real.
