Haven’t read the details yet – it will be interesting to see how the Obama Team frames this:
1) OMG, we didn’t know (the Jeremiah Wright excuse)
2) Racist white people forced him out (probable answer)
3) I’m a President of all the people, and his views are unacceptable, and won’t be tolerated in my administration (fat chance)
So far, the media reports (inlcuding Fox) seem to be framing this as he resigned because he signed the “Truther” petition that George Bush was involved with planning 9/11. A very large percentage of Democrats agree with that. Van Jones needed to go because he made it clear that he views environmental policy as a tool to force wealth redistribution and he genuninely hates white people to his core.
Right after the news broke last night, I went to Twitscoop to see what was going to buzz. The keywords were predictable: beck, glenn, racist, republicans, etc. Nothing about self-accountability (unless the occasional conservative tweep said it.) Beck is labeled a racist because he labeled PBO a racist. The logic escapes me.
And the best retort they can come up with is:
Glenn Beck 1, Van Jones 57 (advertisers)
Now the media explanations are focusing on him calling Republicans names, and some quote about only white boys would shoot each other…. not that he was advocating using environmental policy to redistribute all of the nation’s wealth. I guess they’re afraid if that truth becomes obvious, then they have to deal with Al Gore doing the same thing
