The other claw drops

Radio info story

That Scott Hennen story has a new wrinkle. Scott was suddenly fired from the station where he was co-owner with no advance warning. It was very odd at the time.

According to the story above, the other co-owner of the stations is in big trouble. When someone operates a ponzi scheme, and you participate in it – and benefit from being in it before it collapses, the lawyers who come in after the fact to set things right will attempt to do a “claw back” – to track down the people who appear to have benefitted from the ponzi scheme and force them to give back the ill-gotten money.

The trustees of a $3.5 billion global ponzi scheme that collapsed is chasing Michael Kofer (who co-owns KFGO-AM, WZFG-AM, and KEGK-FM) for $36 million. As often is the case with a Ponzi scheme, it can be hard to tell the victims from the perpetrators. A Fargo court will try to sort things out later this month.

  1. Hesperus says:

If this storm breaks over Kofer’s (apt name, if you think about it) head, Hennen should buy time, if necessary, to broadcast a great big belly laugh and dedicate it to his secret “admiree.” Fifteen seconds should do it.
