Just a note on how pervasive internet ra…

Just a note on how pervasive internet radio is becoming. Went to my bank this morning to do something and the customer service lady who helped me had Glenn Beck’s show coming out of the computer on her desk. (She was tuned to his local affiliate here in Philly — 1210 AM The Big Talker.) She said she’s a big fan of his but Rush annoys her so she turns it off at noon, when Beck goes off and Rush comes on. I told her about Jerry Doyle and that she could listen to him from 3 to 6. Also explained to her about SRG and how she could access lots of different shows through this terrific service so she won’t be limited to just the programs that are broadcast over the air here in Philly. I may not be able to do all the high-tech things the rest of you guys do but I am a persistent saleslady for this Web site every chance I get! The more choices the better. That’s the American way, right?

Rush does have a “woman” problem. It’s to the point that I think he has given up any hope of having a strong female demographic. I’m guessing Rush reminds many women of their ex-husbands, but I don’t really know.

That’s interesting that you found a person listening to Beck at work. You must have been out in the suburbs :) I’ve never counted it up, but I can tell a fairly large portion of the traffic here is from people at work, especially government workers and people in the military. I heard the figure the other day that 45 million 12+ answer Yes to “have you ever listened to a radio station on the internet?”… however, the trend here matches the survey, that younger people are less likely to answer Yes to listening to streaming radio – they never got into the habit of turning on the radio, and just listen to MP3 music instead. Streaming Radio is for us old folks in our rocking chairs. :)

    It was in the ‘burbs.

How can you tell they are government workers and people inthe military?

Us old folks in our rocking chairs are still the backbone of this country. Imagine a smiley face here.

The Address of their computer comes back as something.something.gov or something.something.mil :)
