Well, I guess its official , Obama now holds the Nobel Peace Prize, How idiotic ! I would like to know, I’m sure as well as a millions more people ,What, did he do to deserve it, Have the Nobel people lost their minds ? It seems now that anybody can receive one. The Noble Peace Prize has just become just another item to collect dust now , its worthless !

Even NPR reported that the audience gasped when Obama’s name was mentioned, and the reporter stated that while Obama hasn’t really “done” anything yet, he is being honored for his attempt at world peace. Kind of like giving a dog a treat to reward the behavior you would like!
This award, coupled with the Nobel prize to Al Gore, is evidence that the Nobel Prizes are truly suspect.
The common factor among all of the sitting presidents who have won the peace prize is that in the face of rising Islamofasicm, they did nothing. Theodore Roosevelt regretted not being proactive when the Young Turks took control of the government; Wilson sat idly by when those same Turks slaughtered the Armenians en masse. Carter was totally bought and paid for by the Saudis and allowed our hostages to have an extended stay in Iran. What does this say about Obama?
As Free to Choose pointed out — even NPR seemed taken aback this morning. NPR noted that the deadline for applying for the prize was only 2 weeks after Inauguration Day. Just plain unreal!
I think it’s an appropriate time for me to inject my amendment to Speaker Pelosi’s new call for a “Windfall Profits Tax”. I propose that we include windfall profits reaped by all politicians who sell of vapid, ego-centric memoirs and other books, all speaking fees, income from lobbying work and unearned prize money to a 98% federal windfall profits tax. President Obama has earned around 2 million dollars from his books – and now he has a (Windfall: Money received which was not expected and not a direct result of something the recipient did.) Nobel prize windfall. Gosh. I also do nothing a lot of the time, is there an award I can be nominated for? I can’t say I had a whole lot of resepct for the Nobel Prizes in general prior to now, but this really cheapens things.
If President Obama can get a Nobel Peace Prize for what he may do in the future, then Ms Pelosi should create a “future income tax” on the income you might earn in the future…. well, I guess in a way that’s what they’re doing already.
Only one complaint so far about today’s poll question.
How ironic Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson , and now, Barrack Obama the only sitting Presidents to receive the Nobel Peace Prize , it should be the …Participation Award… along with Jimmy Carter and Al Gore, All Progressives
