Having friends in high places

So let’s say you live out in the desert and you want to run your own FM radio station – there is nobody else on the FM dial.   So you put up an antenna without an FCC license to help your neighbors.    The FCC eventually found the “Pirate” station and shut it down.  FCC rules say once you have admitted to running an unauthorized Pirate station that makes you ineligible to own a licensed station*

Did I mention this pirate station is in Nevada, home state of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid?

Well, Radio Goldfield (NV) is now officially licensed as KGFN-FM on 89.1 at 150 watts.

Next, someone will have to explain to Mr. Moses what “Non-Commercial” means

In case you had any doubts about the politics of the owner, he was kind enough to link to a post describing the Hegelian Dialectic.   I wonder if he has a studio, a public inspection file and a functioning EAS device…

  1. ICCDude says:

What, Harry Reid is corrupt? Just because of the radio station?
What about his real estate dealings, where he was a silent partner in the deal?
He was so silent, matter of fact, that he wasn’t even listed on the deed. So when the property was sold, he made millions on a deal he wasn’t officially listed on.
He entered the Senate as one of the poorest Senators at the time, and now he is one of the richest. Ah, America! Surely this is what the founding fathers envisioned for our “statesmen”.
Excuse me, but I have to go because I’m retching now.
