The limits of Government Power

In a now unreachable part of Pennsylvania, at the coal town named Centralia, a fire in an underground coal seam has been burning since 1961.

The government has figured out no way to stop the fire, and it could well be burning centuries from now. The best the government was able to do was to pay people to move out of town.
