Glenn Beck’s next history lesson – Fred Hampton

There is a question that would open the Obama facade wide open if a reporter were to ask it –

“Mr President, would you support having the Department of Justice reopen the case of the death of Fred Hampton?”.

It has to be asked without prep time to find an answer or to the stooge Robert “I know nothing” Gibbs.

Fred Hampton was killed by the Chicago Police in 1969 at the direction of then mayor Richard J Daley – the same mayor who had ordered his police to beat up anti-war protesters at the 1968 Democratic Party convention in Chicago.

Mr Hampton was an official in the Black Panther party in Illinois (the original one). J Edgar Hoover was still running the FBI and became alarmed at the Black Panthers’ ability to broker a peace between rival street gangs and create a political organization in South Chicago. Hampton is the person who coined the term “Rainbow Coalition”. Among other things that the Black Panthers stood for was the right of black men in Chicago to carry firearms for self-defense. [in case you wonder why Chicago is so firm about gun control…]

After having drugged him, at 4 AM, the police stormed his apartment, killed his security detail, and shot him in his bed while he slept.

Now President Obama has several possible ways to answer that question… he may well say “I don’t know who that is”, which would distance himself immediately with actual African Americans who lived through the 1960s in America (not Indonesia).

He possibly is very aware of the entire story – Bobby Rush who defeated Barack Obama in 2000 for the U.S. House seat was the “defense minister” of the same Illinois Black Panther party at the same time.

If President Obama says “Yes, that sounds like a good idea”, he will find himself in direct conflict with the “Daley Machine” run by Richard M Daley, the current mayor of Chicago (son of Richard J).

If he says “No, there is no point in looking into that”, he puts distance between himself and the Civil Rights community. These are the kinds of “wrongs” that the African American community thought they were electing Barack Obama to fix – but getting at the truth could destroy the death grip the Democratic Party holds over black Americans.
