My Advice to Glenn Beck

Sleep at least 7 hours a day – seriously.

Glenn announced today on his radio show that he is taking time off to undergo medical tests to find out why he is losing feeling in is hands and other neurological symptoms.

I convinced myself 10 years ago that I really only needed 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night – it catches up with you eventually. Your body has a large capacity to absorb abuse, but it will catch up to you.

There wasn’t much doubt with his running in 5 directions at once and sleeping 3 hours a night it was going to catch up with him. Let’s just hope he realizes this before it did any permanent damage.

And take some vitamin D – you probably rarely are getting any sunlight any more.

  1. Hesperus says:

I met a Mahayana Buddhist monk in Japan who told me that people tend to live either like fire or like water. The fire, he said, burns bright and hot and draws attention, but is self-consumed and shortly dies out. Water, on the other hand, that runs slowly and coolly, may endure far into the future and be a source of pleasure and sustenance all along the way. Glenn, Quo vadis, Grasshoppah?
