Wanna buy a hot FM transmitter?

News Story

The engineer for WHKO-FM in Dayton Ohio got an early morning wakeup call – that for some reason the station was off the air.  Upon driving to the transmitter site, he found the gate knocked down, the door pried open and the transmitter and other equipment missing.

The men responsible for this theft immediately took their stolen property to a scrap yard.   To their credit, the scrap yard thought it odd that a high value item like a commercial FM transmitter with the call sign of a local radio station would be offered for metal scrap.   The police arrested the two men, and are looking for a third.

The news coverage does not mention the names of the men, show mug shots or state their immigration status – which pretty much tells us what we all suspect, beyond the fact that they are pretty stupid.
