Top 100 Heavy Hitters from Talkers Magazine.
This is Dejavu all over again. Joe Madison is a local host on WOL-AM in Washington DC. WOL-AM is a 370 watt AM station with a barely measurable audience that doesn’t even cover the entire district (although it booms into the White House). Joe’s show is also carried on XM chanel 169 (“The Power”) which is basically shows from Radio One.
There are currently 4,776 licensed AM stations in the United States. Only 203 AM stations have 370 watts or less authorized daytime power.
John Batchelor, who does 24 hrs a week on WABC, WJR, WMAL, WBAP, WPRV, WTKK, WKBN, KSFO, WAPI…. is only in the honorable mention list. Even Alex Jones made the top 100 list.
Steve Harvey? Tom Joyner?
The “Top 100 Heavy Hitters” is basically the “Maxim 100 Hawtest Babes” of radio. Half the list shouldn’t be there, it definitely shouldn’t be in that order, the order was probably heavily influenced by nagging publicists, and beyond that it’s the usual cluster#*%^ you get from committees.
Putting a liberal talker in the top 50, much less the top 10, is as laughable as trying to convince us that Paris Hilton and Michelle O are “hawt.”
Also, did you know that Michael Smerconish is a “conservative”? Who knew?
Then, of course, there’s Doug Stephan, who is a third-tier morning show host, at #15.
Conveniently, Mr. Stephan has a cross-promotion deal with Talkers Magazine.
Oh, this isn’t about baseball then? Never mind.
I think Stan Musial was better than Joe Madison. Oh wait… sorry I really thought we’re talking baseball.
