Isn’t this sort of how World War I got started?
I see you’re burdened with a memory of history.
If I had a child, or the time myself, I’d teach him the skills most men learned prior to, say, 1920 or so. How to live off the land and so on. Yes it is not unlike the stumbling and bumbling into war that is probably still taught in Catholic high schools.
Without the tedious buffoons and thieves on Wall Street and Washington – the our civilization has lost it’s nobility, its honor, its raison d’être. What if ? What if the pointless hollow little men who comprise what passes for America’s leadership class declare another war an no one shows up? What if the deservedly anonymous petty little government men tax and fee more and more and nobody pays? Daily, my focus shifts more and more away from this earth to an Eternal Goodness. As a nation we must accept the consequences of our decisions – as a nation we don’t even try to shine in the light of Diogenes’ lamp any more.
