Several independent sources are floating the idea that Glenn Beck’s sudden change of direction is because he intends to change his focus from politics to religion (more than he was doing already).
Do you think that’s true? If so, how will it change your view of Beck and the radio show?
Where is the streaming guide? What has happened to my favorite site???
I tuned Rev. Beck out long time ago. While I approve 100% of his political views I strongly disapprove of the preaching he is so fond of doing within the last year or so. It’s a pity because I do really enjoy political commentary.
Really when you look at it objectively there is no one out there doing conservative political commentary. Rush and Hannity toe the Republican party line, Savage appears to have lost his mind with the CAIR and UK affairs, Levin is loud and obnoxious, and the rest (with a possible exception of Herman Cain) have very centrist views.
Bingo!
It took a couple days for someone to figure it out why I did what I did, but you “got it”. Then again, you let me force you to read my comments.
Thanks – you made my day.
Too preachy for my tastes already–And the sophomoric humor when Beck, Stu, and Pat Gray get going is a little bit much early in the a.m. I think Beck bit off more than he could chew, with the book tours, tv show, radio show, stage shows, and rallies. I wonder if he is bipolar, because his flights of fancy seem manic to me….
Try out this psychobabble theory – over the years, I wrote a number of times my concern that Beck might at some point engage in the ultimate self-destructive act.
A few months ago, he mentioned on the show that his company did listener research (focus groups, etc…) and the main thing it concluded was that people would pretty much listen to anything he talk about – except religion. At the time was explaining this, he said that wasn’t going to stop him – doing what God wants is more important.
I understand the pressure he is under from the government and Soros, etc… but by spending the show reacting to what they’re doing, he’s effectively letting them win.
He was on top of his game when he was on offense, not defense. He is losing his Fox show, and so he need not alienate other listeners. Maybe you are right–maybe he wants out of it all, and this is the way to do it.
