John Batchelor’s perspective

During the 9:00 hour on Friday, John was discussing the situation in Ivory Coast, and brought up the odd alliance of Christians supporting the ousted President – specifically Pat Robertson, Glenn Beck and Jim Inhofe. That is the same list published recently by ThinkProgess.org and Media Matters. John has made it clear that he thinks Sarah Palin and the TEA party are a threat to destroy his Republican party.

Also is the past few days, the Hoover Institution has sent Anne Marlowe into Benghazi, and she reports from her 5 star hotel that all is well with the little people of Libya. John has gone in a few days from “What the hell are we doing?” to “we need to put boots on the ground and kill that bastard Qadaffi”.

I am somewhat disturbed at “conservatives” who tend to go with the flow rather than stand by their principles. It seems their ethics are non-existent. I believe people have the right to change their mind concerning a wide variety of issues, but to diffuse their ethics, their apparent core beliefs into the stream of public opinion is unforgivable. I would tune such people out.

Thanks for commenting on something other than the web site :)

Anne Marlowe is hanging out with the “Prince” of Benghazi – who claims that he is from a family that has ruled Libya for hundreds of years. Sounds like he understands this Democracy thing!

I’m conflicted about Batchelor. He’s got the most informative thing on radio – but he also plays to the people in the room. When he has on the woman from the Nation or the Russian history professor from Columbia (who is a pretty transparent spokesman for the Russian government), he makes nice to them. During the 2008(?) election, he had on his old buddy John Loftus who was clearly acting as a paid agent of the Democratic party and was stroking him for all the good points he was making about the evils of Republicans.

John despises Sarah Palin, the TEA party and Glenn Beck. He is at his core a Progressive establishment New England “RINO”. He speaks fondly of his time as a student at Princeton, which is a huge clue if you listen to Glenn Beck.

The more I’ve listened, the clearer it is that his program is being largely organized (funded?) by the Hoover Institution. It’s located at Stanford and was founded by Herbert Hoover. Margaret Hoover is Herber Hoover’s grand daughter and you’ve seen her on Fox News, and she shows up once in a while on John’s show.

Yes, I smell a Susan Collins/Olympia Snowe/Judd Gregg RINO here. Whatever floats their boat.
