GE and Nielson Media are in a bitter dispute from something I read. The account I read said that GE (parent of NBC and Telemundo) has pulled all its ads and prohibited any contact with Nielson’s reporters (who publishes the Hollywood Reporter) because of published remarks that NBC was getting too Obama friendly, which came to a head at GE’s annual stockholder meeting.

My twitching nose suggests that this could be related to the sudden end to Records and Radio, which was owned by Nielson. Glenn Beck has been warning people for at least six months about a GE/NBC/Obama connection, with GE standing in line to make a ton of money (in addition to being a huge TARP recipient). GE Capital owns a chunk of several of the major radio owners. They have lots of friends in important places.
