Firings at liberal KGO in San Francisco. KGO is owned by Citadel, which is facing serious financial problems. June 12th is a critical day – for employees who worked for ABC/Disney, it’s the 2 year anniversary of the sale of ABC to Citadel. That’s the date until which the former Disney employees can get the old Disney severance deals. At WGN, that meant Tribune’s bankruptcy turned them into unsecured creditors waiting for their unpaid severence. Severance packages are not protected the same way as unpaid wages.
